Fine Wines : Pinot Noir

This Pinot has a deep, dark robe. Aromas are redolent with ripe and jammy red fruits, accented by toasty oak nuances. On the palate, we find a very full, soft velvety texture supporting the flavors of ripe plum and candied black cherry. Finish is long and satiny smooth, ending with notes of wood and spice.

Our 2004 Rosella–s Pinot Noir has a deep ruby-red color. Aromas of ripe black cherries and plums leaps from the glass, accented by the notes of clove, and cinnamon and toasty oak. The palate is very full and luscious exuding refined flavors of ripe dark red fruits supported by gentle, velvety tannins through the lingering finish.
The Wine Spectator Creamy-textured, with smoky mocha-laced oak wrapped around a supple core of raspberry, blueberry and blackberry flavors, finishing with lots of depth, richness and concentration. Drink now through 2011. Score: 92. ‎James Laube, May 15, 2007.

The grapes for Monterey County Pinot Noir come from the coastal foothill regions in the Salinas Valley. In the cellar we work hard to maintain the character and richness of this wonderful fruit. The wine features rich aromas of tart black cherries with hints of both clove and nutmeg. Ripe flavors of raspberries and cola follow on the palate. A small amount of Petite Sirah adds richness, giving the wine additional weight. This is a full-bodied wine with balanced acidity and a supple mouthfeel. It has the elegance to work well with turkey or other fowl, meaty fish like tuna or salmon, and pasta with a creamy wild mushroom sauce.

Purely Pinot Noir in character, the wine shows off black cherry and plum aromas that return in the flavor. Notes of toasted cedar and spice are well integrated into the wine. The balance and complexity of this new wine is achieved in large part from its velvety tannins and apparent structure that we believe is a critical component of fine Monterey Pinot Noir.

The 2005 Foghorn has a lot in common with Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands ˜ medium bodied, soft and round on the palate, ripe but with a brightness and liveliness that keeps the wine refreshing. Aromas of raspberry, cherry and orange peel abound.

Aromas of violet, ripe berry and forest floor; on the palate, this wine has a silky, cream finish, reminiscent of "old school" Sierra Madre Pinot Noir. This wine is delicious with salmon, tuna or any other food with which a delicate Pinot Noir may be best used.
The Wine Advocate The outstanding, sexy 2004 Pinot Noir Sierra Madre Vineyard reveals powerful sweet cherry and berry characteristics intermixed with loamy soil, smoked meat, and herb notes. Deep, rich, complex, and full-bodied, it exhibits much more power and potency than its medium ruby color suggests. Consume it over the next 4-5 years. Score: 91. ‎Robert Parker, August 2006.

Young, soft and a bit jammy-syrupy, this Pinot may benefit from a year or two in the cellar. It has a rich, ripe core of black cherry fruit, with an edge of sweetened coffee, although it's a totally dry wine

Enticing aromas of juicy cherry, fleshy plum, strawberry tart and orange marmalade, with barrel notes of vanilla, cedar, brown sugar and spice. Oak aging rounds out the palate and gives the wine its body. Lush weighty fruit on the palate, tasting of raspberry preserves. The finish is fresh, bright and lingers of ripe red berry flavors.

A big and bold wine with classic intensities of cherry, plum and wild berries whilst not overwhelm the nuances of terroir that are essential for rounding out the wine. In the world of wine, this one is a celebrity.

The wine shows a medium garnet color with good clarity. The nose and palate show blackberry, cranberry, hard spices and the mineral notes of the appellation. The wine is medium to full in body and the softly integrated tannins segue into a long and balanced finish.

This special wine f rom a special vintage demonstrates the power and f inesse of Pinot Noir f rom the Santa Lucia Highlands: rich cherry/plum f ruit accented by nuances of nutmeg, pepper, smoke, and vanilla. The wine–s perfectly poised f ruit/acid balance makes it incredibly food-versatile. The Paraiso Pinot is a wonderful complement to roast fowl and grilled salmon, as well as almost any duck, beef , or lamb preparation.

This medium bodied pinot from Monterey County is a nice solid wine. Earthy bouquet, cherries and light spice taste, with a clean finish.

Rich new oak notes with bright cherry, white pepper and cloves in the nose. Cranberry, pomegranate and red raspberry flavors accented by the classic ‘Russian River’ spice. Cream background ends with a lengthy finish.
